Naubakht
Nobakht Ahvazi ((ペルシア語:نوبخت اهوازى), (or Naubakht Ahvaz) also transliterated "Naubakht") and his sons lived in the 8th - 9th centuries AD, and were astrologers from Ahvaz (in the present-day Khuzestan Province of Iran).
Nobakht was particularly famous for having led a group of astrologers who picked an auspicious electional chart for the founding of Baghdad. His family also helped design the city. Originally Zoroastrians,〔Islam's Contribution to Science
By Husain Muzzafar, S. Muzaffar Husain, pg. 31〕 Nobakht and his sons converted to Islam and were employed as Pahlavi translators of the Abbasid court.
